Two Old Drawings

Here are a couple of older drawings. Drawing # 1 is dated October 1, 2006, and is entitled Beast in Chains. It was done hastily and violently with a ballpoint pen.

Drawing # 2 is undated, but I think it was done sometime in 2006. I like the face, but the rest of it is mediocre in my opinion.

Some practice in cross-hatching. This drawing was done a couple of months ago, as far as I can remember.

Music

Check out some of my music at http://www.soundclick.com/bands/pagemusic.cfm?bandID=373588

I seem to be writing and composing music more than I am drawing these days, but I recently found a drawing I did a few months ago that could be posted. I just have to photograph it, since it is too big to scan.

I'm still drawing feverishly from time to time, but I have nothing post-worthy yet this year. Soon...

I'm back!

I wasn't around for a bit because I misplaced my password, but I found it again. And it seems Blogger has shifted gears so that I can use my Google account to sign in. So that saves me from that hassle happening again.

Not that anyone cares, I don't get any comments.

Green Archer

Here's something I drew last year (2005).

This was mostly just done as enjoyable practice material. Parts I'm most proud of include: her hair, the handle of her sword, and her face and hands.

Schism One

Okay, so this is my first try for uploading an image.

This is actually my most recent completed work of art. I haven't even sprayed fixatif on it yet. So, chronologically, I'm being rather backwards.

I really don't know what else to say about this one. I enjoyed doing the hair on the girl on the right, and I enjoyed doing the skin shading on the girl on the left. The background gradient was boring, but I refused to use photoshop, mainly because I wanted this to be a complete work in and of itself, not only digitally, but as a physical drawing.

That's kind of what I'm all about here. Drawing, old-school style.

Welcome to Jared's art homepage!

So far, I'm having trouble finding fonts that I like. Palatino Linotype should be standard in every program, as far as I'm concerned. And what exactly is the difference between this "Lucida Grande" thing and regular Times New Roman? If you're going to have only 6 fonts, at least make them different.

Okay, so now that preliminary complaining is out of the way, I feel more at home. Haven't moved any stuff in yet, but that will follow...soon...
